Profile

Hi, I am Emily Brook and this is a bit about me.

I’m British, born in Guernsey, Channel Islands but have been living in Dubai for the past 10 years, prior to moving to Australia in 2019 to study Criminal Justice at the University of Queensland.

I have been an active sportswoman from a young age, starting ballet at the age of 3, which I continued and trained for competitively until age 18. In 2017 I undertook my Active IQ Fitness Qualifications and became certified in Gym Instructing and Personal Training, whereby I soon after began coaching clients during 1 on 1 PT sessions and group classes as a trainer at F45 Jumeirah Beach for almost 2 years. Whilst living in Dubai, I also worked with FitnessinDXB , a homegrown UAE wellness company, where I had the opportunity to work alongside other fitness enthusiasts whilst organising free beach bootcamps, paddle-boading classes and wellness retreats amongst many other outdoor activities. During my time with FitnessinDXB, I also had the privilege to attend events such as the Mens and Women’s Health Middle East awards, as well as organise the Worlds Ultimate Strongman Event and Fittest Human Competition as part of the Dubai Muscle Show in 2019. During my final years in Dubai, I decided to broaden my knowledge within the fitness industry, learning new skills whilst undertaking additional first aid, CPR, Life-guarding and nutrition qualifications.

Moving to Brisbane

Although commencing a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice upon arrival in Brisbane, I have continued to pursue my passion for fitness alongside my university studies, constantly learning new skills and meeting like-minded individuals, whilst coaching part time at F45 Indooroopilly. In March, I was also fortunate to travel to Melbourne to film an 8-week home workout program alongside Carlin Sterritt, now launched on the Oyana Fitness App. It is through these experiences that I have been able to develop my skills in personal training and I continue to work to inspire others to improve their lifestyle habits, adapting coaching methods to suit client abilities and preferences. I strive to encourage everyone to actively partake in new activities, offering motivation and utmost support, especially when outside their comfort zones!
